Looking forward to Brandnü’s ethical trade fair this weekend
The robot likes Brandnü and will be in attendance this weekend at what is being called the city’s first ethical trade fair
that will “feature a showcase of contemporary artisan goods and hand-made crafts to promote sustainable livelihoods for rural Chinese women.”
(The robot is not a huge fan of the whole “first” fetish, something you see in this city a lot. If the robot sees another movie proposal that says something like “the first Sino-American-Lithuanian 3D Tri-Production Movie to Feature Talking Water Faucets,” the robot will puke motor oil.)
Brandnü is “a Beijing-based store and artisan network that connects the energy of young urban designers with the age-old traditions of Chinese craftsmanship.”
(As you know, the robot is a bit leary of some age-old traditions, but in this case, most of the traditions we’re talking about here are animal-friendly.)
